Starter smells like vomit and rancid trash on day 3. Am I doing something wrong?
I’ve started over what seems like 5 times because every time I get to day 3, my starter gets super watery and begins to smell like a dumpster filled with vomit. According the King Arthur “big book of bread” it should smell fruity or at least like alcohol or vinegar. Not the case here. Is this normal? What can I do to prevent this?
