They gave him the Disney treatment to make him look generic and attractive for kids. The original Shrek was a big F you to Disney and they made an edgy animation and everyone loved it. Not to mention the entire message of the original Shrek is that your looks don’t matter, it’s how you act that’s matters. They turned Shrek from an ugly monster to a generic looking Disney cartoon. Massive disrespect to the original.
