SIB Baldur's Gate 3

I have a feeling already know the answer to this one, but we're past the point of our timelines being filled with this game, the dust has settled, and maybe people are a bit more objective.

Been eyeing this game for a while and I just cannot make up my mind. I'm traditioally speaking, not much of an RPG player at all; the games I mostly play are either shooters (Resident Evil, Far Cry, etc,.) or some sort of survival game building off of that.

I've played through Dragon Quest 5 (both the SNES version and the DS remake) and Chrono Trigger and LOVED those as a kid, same goes for the Pokémon games (although much simpler).

BG 3 looks overwhelming to me though; it 'looks' like one of those games with a gigantic learning curve, not pick-up and play at all but thata could just be me. I don't know how much I'd enjoy the high-fantasy setting either as I do prefer games that are usually a bit more grounded to reality.

But I'm just curious on what you guys think. BG 3 is my friend group's flavor of the week and since I've already been eyeing it for a while I'm really sitting on the fence about whether I should take the 60 euro plunge or not.
