Apartments that allow for subletting?

Hello all,

Bit specific but wondering if anyone has some insight: I am looking to find an apartment that allows for subletting. Nothing short-term (e.g. Airbnb), but longer stays as I tend to spend a few months out of the year in Europe.

What's very common in most other countries I've lived in (Europe, Australia etc.) seems very hard to find here in SD! Most apartments I have lived in specifically don't allow any kind of sublet. But I am determined to find one.

Aside from smaller/individual landlords, does anyone have any recommendations? Would prefer a community complex with amenities, as well as the beach areas in general but I am flexible. Would love to know if anyone lives in a place here that allows for sublets!!
