How to not look Russian

I’m an American visiting and everywhere I go people try and speak Russian to me or they are rude and or disrespectful (blantantly cutting in line, etc..) I figure it’s mostly because they just assume I’m Russian. Which I completely understand. Once I say me ar var Rusi or just no russkiy/me Amerikidan var, people’s attitude instantly changes. It seems smiling and greeting people politely helps a bit in some circumstances. However, is there anyway to avoid the initial hate or distinguish myself as a non Russian? I’m only here a short time and have learned a little bit of Georgian but that only goes so far. Can Georgians tell the difference between a Russian and American Accent? Any other suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated
