It's begun.... (Meme + mini theory)
Yep, SMG4 started a new arc as I got around to 50% completion of project amnesia, and Hoo boy does this image look interesting.
Now as you know, we learned a few things in the last episode, like how Karen was not only homeless, but was also an orphan (something that I predicted in my past theory on Karen herself), and at the end we got a shot where Mario hears something on a walkie talkie before saying mission accepted.
Originally, I just thought that it was probably just Hitman Inc. using mario so they could get Karen back, so I didn't really post anything on it... THEN, WE GOT THIS! Now I don't need to tell you that Mario's eyes on this image are a MASSIVE red flag, and likely imply that he's being brainwashed, but by who?
Well, I have a few ideas but first I want to get a major elephant out of the room, THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME WE'VE SEEN THOSE EYES! What do I mean by this? Well, that's because characters eyes looking practically braindead is something we saw several times in the puzzlevision saga, with some examples being once upon an smg4 and ready to ride (image 2). Now, after hearing this, you're probably thinking that mr.puzzles is back yet again to torment the cast. However, there's one big problem with that point. As I've mentioned before, MR.PUZZLES IS LOCKED IN A MAXIMUM SECURITY MENTAL HOSPITAL CELL. If he got out, everyone else would know it because of how dangerous he is. Besides, it'd make sense for their government to issue a warning that he's escaped, so it can't be him.
Now this brings up a new question, if mr.puzzles isn't behind this one, then... who is?
Well, I'm certain that whoever is behind this has some tie to the demonic goop. After all, mr.puzzles literally had the goop as a part of him, meaning that the goop is technically tied to the brainwashed eyes we've seen several times in the puzzlevision saga. Now, this would rule out Marty, if... he wasn't already ruled out because of the text on the post.
You see, as shown in We Must Kill Mario (image 3) marty is mainly out for revenge on mario because he abandoned him for spaghetti, and if we compare how he talks in that scene to this image, then whoever is speaking here doesn't sound like how Marty would say things. After all, Marty doesn't see mario as a friend anymore and just wants him to suffer, so why we he not only call mario his buddy, but say "Let's be friends, Huh?" It just doesn't sound in character for him.
Now after Marty, this does leave a few other possibilities.
Either A: This is a brand new character on the other end with some tie to the demonic goop.
B:The smg4 universe's metaphorical Devil equivalent/ source of the demonic goop is speaking through the walkie talkie to influence Mario.
Or the most likely option: C: It's Hitman Inc./Karen's old job.
Now, I personally believe the third is the most likely for a few reasons.
1: Hitman Inc badly wants karen back for an unknown reason (This has been shown in several episodes, like we must kill mario, and The Fight Of All Time. (Image 3)
2: When we see a shadowy entity from Hitman Inc. in Karen's flashback, the scene is depicted in a way like that of a deal with the devil (Image 4).
- THE WORDS MISSION ACCEPTED ARE SHOWN AT THE END OF THE EPISODE, which is something a Hitman would say when accepting a mission (Image 5).
Now with that out of the way, I suppose I should mention what I think we'll be seeing, and so far I don't have much. Personally, I think that Hitman Inc is brainwashing mario so they can get Karen back by force. After all, calling her isn't working so it makes logical sense for them to do something more severe.
Outside of that, I personally think that we're going to be getting some clues related to the demonic goop itself and its origins, especially considering that it looks like Mr. Puzzles is currently out of the picture.
Now, before I finish this post off I do want to mention that despite there being a new arc, Project Amnesia is still my main priority. However, I will make more and more theories as we get more episodes, but don't expect them to be as big as the ones from the puzzlevision saga, as I don't have as much time to do theories as I did back then, especially with me now having a job and whatnot. Eventually though when I finally finish Project: Amnesia (which is looking to be 4 hours long in length at the current time), things should fully balance out, meaning that I'll be doing theories during arcs more often, and making videos when arcs aren't going on.
That should be everything that I wanted to cover, thank you for reading.
