I finally got gold 3 after like 3 weeks

I’m on 0 RP so if I go into gold IV again will I not get the background? Or now that I’ve gotten to gold 3 I get the background no matter what. Like if I were to get all the way to champ then go way back into bronze 2 would I still get the champions reward. The backgrounds the only thing I really want tbh.
