How I finally fixed micro stuttering and screen tearing!

Been dealing with this problem for almost 3 years and I never understood what causes it, now I found a FIX that works globally.

Problem: Every game I was playing didn't feel smooth, my fps were uncapped all of the time, and G Sync or Vertical Sync off. This caused mismatch between my GPU and Monitor, which resulted in stutters.

MY FIX:

  1. Nvidia Control Panel ---> Set maximum fps -3 of normal hz (If you have 144hz, set maximum to 141) - This step is pretty standard for g sync setups.

  2. Open G Sync or Freesync from your monitor (this step won't work if you don't have a monitor with those techs) - Freesync works with Nvidia GPU too (I have a RTX 4070 Super) and I use Freesync.

  3. Nvidia Control Panel ---> Set Vertical Sync to "Fast" (Really important step!)

  4. Whatever game you play, turn on Vertical Sync from it's settings.

This made all of my games smooth; the only one who still acts up is minecraft.

Note: I don't even have the LOW LATENCY setting on, and there's almost no input lag. But might test it further.

My setup:

Ryzen 9 5900x (undervolted to 1.25V) RTX 4070 Super OC Windforce 3x 64GB DDR4 3200mhz Corsair 4000D Case B550 Gaming Plus Be Quiet 750W PSU
