1440p gaming pc - upgrading from 5600x/1070
Hi, posted here a while back on possible upgrades for my PC re: MH Wilds, and decided na it might be time na for me to full on upgrade to AM5 (The PC's ~8 years old + dead end na rin naman ako sa socket, it's 5700x3d then wait if that becomes a bottleneck too)
Current build is:
Part | Brand/Model |
---|---|
CPU | Ryzen 5 5600X |
CPU Cooler | Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 non-SE |
SSD | Patriot Viper VPN100 256GB |
MOBO | Gigabyte B450 Aorus M |
RAM | 4x8gb Patriot Steel DDR4-3200 |
GPU | Palit GTX 1070 Dual Fan |
PSU | Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 650W |
CASE | Asus Prime AP201 |
Monitor | 1x AOC24G2SE, 1x AOG 24G15N |
With the planned upgrade, I'm hoping that the PC would be good to hold again with minimal upgrades for the next 7-8 years or so, and I'll reusing as much stuff as possible from the old rig. Here's what my shopping list is looking like now:
Part | Brand/Model | Price | Link/Source |
---|---|---|---|
CPU | Ryzen 5 9800X3D | 31695 | Bermorzone |
MOBO | ASRock B650M PG Riptide | 10950 | AyosComputer |
RAM | 2X16GB G.Skill Flare X5 AMD EXPO DDR5-6000Mhz | 5800 | AyosComputer |
GPU | Either an RTX 5070ti or RTX 4070ti Super | probably max 50k? | |
Monitor | 1440p144 to replace the 24G2SE | ~12k or so |
Usecase would be around 75-80% gaming (FFXIV, Monster Hunter World/Rise/Wilds) and 20% video encoding/rendering (Whisper/Handbrake mostly). A few questions:
- Will my old PSU be enough to handle the planned new build?
- Is there something to improve with the part choice na hindi ganun kataas ang increase sa budget? (Or can I get the parts cheaper from another source)
- Any monitor suggestions? max size for me is 27' (kasi hanggang dun lang kaya ng monitor arm ko haha)
- Is holding off for the 5070ti worth it/is the bump significant from the 4070ti Super?
Thanks!
