Hello, OPTCG community!

I've been playing OPTCG since OP-03 and am loving every aspect of it! Coming from a Magic: The Gathering background, I enjoy experimenting with deck builds by adding unique tech or pet cards to personalize my decks.

To dive deeper, I built a website designed to provide all the essential information I look for every day:

EDIT: The Chat page is now live! It is very scuffed right now but it should be able to answer simple questions about the game rule and cards! :)

What It Is

• Comprehensive Card Database: The site features every card released in the Western format, all up-to-date and filterable by series, rarity, type, name, effect, and more.
• Unique Deck Database: Rather than providing full decklists, I list the most commonly used cards for each leader, including the number of times each card appears in successful builds. This allows users to customize the exact number of copies they want, empowering them to create tailored decks based on solid foundations—all without sign-ups or logins.
• Efficient and Lightweight: The site is optimized to minimize networking load on your device, with card images being the largest assets.

Exciting Upcoming Feature: 5 to Life AI

I'm thrilled to announce that I’m working on a custom AI chatbot, trained on the rulebook and all card details. Imagine asking, “What kind of deck can I use Mini Merry in?” and getting a meaningful, strategic answer. With no planned card rotations and an expanding library, I believe this will be a fantastic resource for players navigating the OPTCG metagame.

What It Isn’t

• User-Submitted Decks: For quality assurance, all decks on 5 to Life are vetted for tournament viability.
• Articles or Primers (Yet!): Let me know if you’d like to see deck techs or event coverage in the future!
• A Short-Lived Project: I’m a senior software developer with over five years of experience and a commitment to growing this platform. I’m here for the long run, ensuring 5 to Life becomes a lasting resource.
