EGR cleaner

Hiya,

I'm trying to clean the EGR valve on my petrol engine car. Looking at specific EGR cleaners, it seems that only Repco has them in stock nearby, and it's rather pricey for a one-off job. I'm considering Supercheap's throttle body & carburettor cleaner spray. Would this product do the job, or do I need to use a specific EGR cleaning solution?

If this attempt fails, then a trip to the shop might be necessary. I'm only giving this a try as my mechanic recommended doing it myself to save on labour costs.
