My kid didn’t get presents from a few friends.

I hosted a party for my kid at a play space and either a few people didn’t give gifts or the play space kept some of the gifts. I’m bummed for my daughter- she loves opening up presents and really looks forward to it. Even a drawing or a handmade bracelet would have been great… however, she’s short a few gifts and this was an intimate party, so I know she feels bad that some friends didn’t give gifts.

I try to tell her that it’s not about the gifts that matter, it’s the people, but I get it. It just sucks. Any thoughts or wisdom would help. Thanks.

EDIT TO ADD- our friend circle and their kids are very well off. It’s not a question of poverty or not, we all live in a HCOL area in a very affluent part of town. If there was even a question of poverty, I wouldn’t even bring this up.
