Any way to get shot of second weapon?

I know the second weapon thing was a touted feature but I am married to my stickbug. Every so often I misinput and some dunky peashooter replaces my beloved stick and my darling insect and I dislike it immeasurably.

Is there any way to turn it off? Is it as simple as setting secondary weapon to a different Glaive?
