This is what my grandpa who was an ex-prof. at IIT Kanpur told me. He strictly forbid me from preparing for JEE cause he thought it's a rat race and also that most of the people who want go to IITs are people seeking for great job offers. (Money oriented minds) I told him about the niche I want to pursue in life and he advised me to prepare for exams which will give me more opportunities as the thing I want to pursue isn't recognized well in India yet. (Basically abroad jaane ke liye bol rhe the) IK the education is top notch at IITs but my grandfather resigned from the prof. position cause he thought the system isn't merit based. It's the individual's personal point of view of course. I never really cared about the craze and brand value of big colleges. In the end, it depends on the individual performance🤷🏻‍♂️
