Employer asking me to opt out of PF
I am 22M and just started my career. I got an offer from a startup and they are suggesting me to opt out of PF. The team is small and my pay is more than 15,000 and I dont have any PF account.
When I asked HR that I want PF, they are suggesting all the PF will be deducted from my salary and employer will not contribute to it.
Also, they are kind of spiking my overall package with 1.60 L medical insurance (i negotiated in hand salary so this is not really an issue) is this a common practice? When I asked about why is it so high, they did not have any strong explaination. They mentioned that they have to pay fees for registeration and it will cover your family etc. As far as I know, I dont think it costs that much. They mentioned that its a GMC (General Medical coverage)
This is my first job and I don't know if its right. I am mainly concerned about what will happen if I opt out of PF? I invest heavily in stocks, ETFs and SIPs, i just wanted to know if it will create any problem on my career ahead.
