IT manager resigned and HR isn't looking for a replacement for awhile. I'm an IT tech, and now will be the temporary IT manager of our facility. My pay went for $16 to $17.5... So for an extra $1.50 and hour, I must manage everything solely.
Safe to say I will only stay for experience, but will be looking for a new job shortly. Maybe I'm not seeing things correctly, but I feel insulted with such a small "raise".... Will only be staying for the experience. Will leave as soon as I find a better position :)
Edit - Spoke to HR about a title change and pay increase. They declined.. Saying that I'll still be acting as the IT tech for our facility, while taking over the responsibilities of the IT manager. They also mentioned "they will be speaking with the managers across our facility to inform them that I'll be running the joint by myself for the time being." So "hopefully" they will understand I'm by myself and calm down on any requests from me. Likewise, the pay will NOT be increasing even temporary because I just got the increase from $16 to $17.5. WHAT A JOKE. I'm putting in a two week notice this Monday. Screw this
