Democratic Memory Law - apostille, original docs, and NY consulate

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to submit my application for citizenship through Annex 1 of the Democratic Memory Law and am in crunch mode. I have a few questions that don't seem to be answered on this thread already and would really appreciate the advice!

  1. Which of the required documents need to be apostilled and translated? My understanding is that the Spanish birth certificate does NOT need to be apostilled -- is this true?
  2. I don't currently have the original documents proving my grandfather's exile & naturalization in the US; I have photocopies. Will I need to source the original for these?
  3. Can anyone weigh in on the experience via the NY consulate? I emailed and have received no response.

Muchas gracias!
