Gamesir +, holding the key sends input multiple times

Trying to use the Hulk Gamesir Plus for Android and recently whenever I press a button it rapid send that input multiple times. Making it impossible to navigate through interface UI and the general game play. Do I have a defective controller? It's only a couple weeks old
