Plane travel with French Bulldog

Hello my fellow frenchie owners. My partner and I have an upcoming trip this March and would like to bring our fur baby with us. It is a domestic flight but about 5 hours (New York to Houston). This being both of our first dog, we have never flew with one before. Any airline recommendations, tips or tricks you have for us would be greatly appreciated.
