As someone who has read all the books and thinks extremely highly of them

I have read all the Foundation books, and I have never had a such an incredible page turning experience as them. I didn't play videogames or watch any movies or TV like I usually did, I just wanted to continue reading those books until I finally finished them all.

And I think this show is great. I actually enjoy the fact that it strays so heavily from the books. Typically, I avoid reading the books for movies and TV shows because I don't want to be spoiled. It's why I avoided reading The Expanse and Lord of the Rings, because then wouldn't the movies and show just be boring? Imagine if I knew what would happen to Gandalf after the Mines of Moria. Would completely deflate the scene for me when I saw it in theaters.

But this show is so completely off that I have no idea what's going to happen next. I am actually in suspense. Sure, it misses most of the themes from the book. But it still does grand interstellar galactic politics over centuries pretty well, and that's all I really crave.
