Drift button does nothing on PC?

I'm having a strange bug in chocobo races where the drift button literally does nothing. I know it's supposed to be like mario kart, I don't get the jump or anything, RT just does nothing. I tried with mouse and keyboard and same issue there too. Has anyone else run into this?
