Storage question!

Ok so i already know that if i put stuff in storage in my house it works in all realms, but i also have some storage floating around my valley for quickness (so i dont need to bother with loading time getting into my house.) So i guess what im asking is if i put things in a safe but its on say the plaza floor or dazzle beach, will that still count if i go to the vale or eternity isle? Or does it need to be actually inside my house to work? Thanks!
