Dog steps for bed?
My partner and I have a 10 year old Boston Terrier who is starting to slow down. He still goes in 3+ mile hikes in the mountains with us and is as playful as ever with our other dog. But recently he has been having some difficulty jumping up onto our bed. He can still make the jump, but he will sometimes hesitate for a second or two before jumping and even then he will make it but with not too much extra clearance. There’s no indication that jumping is painful for him. He just seems increasingly more uncertain about his ability to jump.
My partner wants to purchase stairs for our bed so that he doesn’t have to jump anymore. I’m concerned, however, that if he becomes reliant on the stairs and stops jumping altogether that his overall decline in mobility will accelerate. Basically, use it or lose it.
Should we get the stairs? Am I overthinking this?
