Jashan Fragrances review

Hello fragheads, hope you all are doing well. My 11th review and this time I picked a very famous brand, Jashan Fragrances. I had ordered 11 8 ml samples. I got 2 4 ml vials complimentary. The prices were a little of the higher side. I had kept them for close to 4 months before using them. The scent profile of all were very nice and of high quality. Though I have not used the individual og frags, so I will not know how close they are to the og. Unique thing about this house is they have 5 different concentrations of any frag. EDC(10%), EDT(10%), EDP(30%), Pure Parfum(40%) & Extrait (50%). You can order in 4ml, 8ml, 30ml, 50ml or 100 ml. You can use https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1h0tiIZglUuIpLSmELJm-fx7_oBt0PSYU53u4onCzPoM/edit?gid=1708222546#gid=1708222546 to choose and place your order. Pricing and all necessary information are available in the sheet.

Below is my take on how I perceived the frags. This may perform differently on others depending on the skin, weather, and other factors. Please bear with me if there are any mistakes and excuse my lack of knowledge on this topic.

  1. White Musk

Inspired/Clone of: Original Blend

Impression: Opens with a floral powdery vibe which is very basic yet beautiful. As the time commences you start getting the pleasant smell of rose and the main ingredient i.e., the musk. The musk here is not very strong and dense but subtle. Throughout you keep getting the beautiful mix of the rose and musk along with that powdery note. It is not a beast in terms of projection but stays loyal to you for around 3~4 hrs. In between when you start looking for it, the whiffs remind you of its presence. Stays for a long time on garments.

Rating: 7.5

  1. Tera de Citron

Inspired/Clone of: Original Blend

Impression: Citrusy peppery opening. Lime, Oranges along with some pepper. The combination almost gives an aromatic vibe. Initial projection is very good, and it stays for 30 mins. Post that it tones down but kind of stays for 4~5 hrs. Dry down is vetiver and woody notes. It is not the same but has some similarities to the TDH clone I had tried earlier. Stays for a longer time on garments.

Rating: 8

  1. Issey Miyake

Inspired/Clone of: L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme by Issey Miyake

Impression: A mix of bright citrus consisting of lime and more lime with oranges, aromatic consisting of few herbs kind of opening. After the initial stingy citrus blast, it transitions into a spicy and flowery mix. Drydown is woody, musky and a little earthy. This is very suitable for high heat summers. It stays upto that 4 hrs mark post which you keep getting the whiffs. Stays longer on the garments.

Rating: 7.5

  1. Oud Wood

Inspired/Clone of: Oud Wood by Tom Ford

Impression: Opens with a beautiful oud note that is very pleasing to the nose. Smells like luxury to be very honest. Best part is the drydown as it continues to have the oud along with a creamy vanilla which smells heavenly. This is one of those ouds like royal oud which is very pleasing and inoffensive. Projection is good and it also lasts longer for ~5 hrs. Stays even longer on garments.

Rating: 9

  1. Grey Area

Inspired/Clone of: Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford and Vetiver by Guerlain

Impression: Very sophisticated blend. Clean fresh citrusy opening with some amount of spiciness. Drydown has a lot of moss notes, that damp green and earth smell you can very well relate to and the smell of vetiver. Lasts really well and has a good projection. Very masculine and stylish in my opinion.

Rating: 8.5

  1. Fierce

Inspired/Clone of: Fierce by Abercrombie & Fitch

Impression: Starts fresh with citrus and a hint of spice. The projection is very moderate at the beginning. Then it transitions into floral notes consisting of jasmine. It has a woody and musky drydown. This did not last for me beyond an hr. Post that it became very faint. I tried this over 2 days just to check if I have olfactory fatigue but it does not seem so.

  1. Gjallarhorn TMR

Inspired/Clone of: Original Blend

Impression: As soon as you spray you get that barbershop vibe of citrus and some spices consisting of cardamom and clove. The difference what you see in this vs a classic barbershop frag is the presence of khus. The khus is pretty much present throughout the journey. Drydown is woody and musky. It has a decent projection and lasts. Will last for about ~4 hrs. It will last more on garments.

Rating: 7

  1. SMW LX

Inspired/Clone of: Silver Mountain Water by Creed

Impression: This has a very fresh opening with bergamot and oranges. Along with the freshness there is a stingy green vibe which is a borderline spicy and green note. Drydown is musky and woody. Unfortunately, this did not perform or last well for me and it faded away sooner than expected.

Rating: 6

  1. Caramel

Inspired/Clone of: Original Blend

Impression: Like the name suggests this is mostly like a 5 star i.e., a gooey caramel chocolate. Projection is very strong and lasts for a good 4 hrs. Stays more on the garments. Be very careful not to overspray else it can become cloying.

Rating: 7.5

  1. Angels Share

Inspired/Clone of: Angels' Share By Kilian

Impression: Opens with a sweet boozy note of cognac accompanied by a burst of cinnamon. It transitions by adding a woody and vanilla smell to it. At this point it smells more like something baked with alcohol, vanilla and sprinkled with cinnamon and almonds. Projection and longevity are both really good.

  1. Expelliarmus

Inspired/Clone of: BR540 by MFK + Elysium by Roja + Aventus by Creed

Impression: As the name suggests, I get a mix of all the 3 DNAs. Fruity from aventus, saffron & sweet from the BR540 and the citruses & aromatic vibe of elysium. It is like the 3 are competing with each other to make their presence feel. The distinct smell I get is of an herbal aromatic saffron. Overall, I did not like this combination a lot. Individually the alts I have tried for each were good. The final outcome after the frag fades is musky. Projection and longevity are good.

  1. By the Harbour

Inspired/Clone of: Pacific Chill by Louis Vuitton

Impression: It opens with a wave of freshness consisting of Lemon and Oranges. Initial projection is good enough. At the heart I can detect ginger which makes it smell like a ginger ale and some amount of green vibe. Base comes with that tea note like you are brewing fresh tea with ginger and lime in it. Very refreshing. Ok one interesting thing about this is you tend to get nose blind. But do not get fooled by it as in between you will keep getting those beautiful whiffs to remind its presence. On garments it stays even more. The dry down is something which is the best in the whole journey.

  1. Interlude

Inspired/Clone of: Interlude by Amouage

Impression: This is mostly something which you either hate or love. Mostly an herbal & spicy sort of opening with oregano and pepper resp with a trace of citrus elements in it. The heart consists of a smoky, warm, and sweet combination of notes. It is not very sweet but just the right amount. At the base there is a presence of woody and leathery notes. Overall, the whole profile smells very sophisticated imo. Projection is good and the longevity is there for ~5 hrs before it becomes a personal bubble. Definitely for colder weather.

Rating: 8.5

IMO By the harbour, TF Oud Wood, Grey Area and Interlude are the standout ones. I have ordered many other frags from here after reading the reviews and talking to fellow frag heads. Most of them are og creations.

If you want to read the reviews on other houses I have tried, please check my profile. Next up for review is RJ Perfumery.
