Class Action Lawsuit against Dell - Dell G3 Hinge Issue
Hello,
I’m speaking to an attorney about filing a class action lawsuit. The attorney needs a rough estimate of the “class” of individuals that were impacted by the G3 series laptops (most specifically G3 15 3590) hinges breaking less than a year of owning the laptop.
The G3 15 3590 hinge has a design flaw that Dell has failed to acknowledge.
The attorney is not willing to draft a complaint until I can find more possible plaintiffs.
I have showed him several results from the Dell community forum. He agreed that the issue appears to be widespread. However, the more individuals that come forward, the better.
Please only post down below if your laptop is a G3 series and the hinge has suddenly broke from closing or opening the laptop. If the laptop suffered any physical damages as a result of owner negligence anytime before the hinge cracked, it cannot be included.
Please include:
- Approximately when the hinge broke.
- How long the laptop was owned when the hinge broke.
- Picture(s) of the damage.
- Was the laptop in warranty at the time? If so, what type of warranty?
- If you contacted Dell to get it fixed, what was their response?
- After the repair was completed, did the same issue occur again? If so, how long did it take?
- Do you still own the laptop to this day?
Thank you for your time. If you know anyone with the same issue, please redirect them to this post. It is very unfortunate this has to be done. The worst thing a company can do is not stand behind their products.
Note: I cannot guarantee that this class action lawsuit will go through. We just need a rough estimate of how widespread this issue is. If you are already in the process of filing a class action regarding this same issue, please let me know via private message.
