Will this game fuck me up?

I've been hearing nothing but good things about Dead Space even back when it first came out. And I've been wanting to play it but there's an issue: I scare very easily and I suffer from a LOT of nightmares. When I first played Control, I never knew it was extremely atmospheric and horror in nature but I got to the end of it albeit suffering from nightmares about the oldest house lol. So I was wondering, how much horror is Dead Space? Will it fuck me up? Are there any mods anyone can recommend to at least "dial down" the scary bits? Or will it completely ruin the game for me?

However based from the replies, I figure it's just safer to pussy out on the game lol. Thank you all for the feedback though. Maybe someday when I learn to finally conquer my fears I'd get to play this game. But not today.
