Did the Cars annihilate mankind?
So this is supposed to be a cute Pixar Easter Egg.
But what if...?
In a universe where toys are secretly alive, it is a possibility that every inanimate object is alive as well, following the same rules of pretending to conceal their existence. Dinoco obviously is an evil corporation. A fossil fuel company that made the gruesome choice to put a dinosaur in the logo. While experimenting to lower production costs, they accidentally made something that made the Cars too powerful. Too strong. They took over. Car's new world doesn't have toys. They're all fuel now. No kid Cars, no need for toys. The fate of humans and animals is even more horrifying. All other lifeforms are now substrate for Dinoco's massive fuel production. They kept most of the useful infrastructure. But there is no more nature. There is only technology
