Health risks from BPA lining -- alternatives?
Been eating pescatarian for years. Considering health/fitness goals, I've found myself eating at least 4 servings of fish every single day.
Sardines, salmon, mackerel, chunk light tuna, etc.
I am not concerned about mercury (small fish only). I am not concerned about sodium, my blood pressure is good, I exercise and eat very healthily.
I am concerned about BPA lining in cans, which are supposedly the #1 source of BPA intake. Most of the canned fish has zero assurances about BPA content, and "BPA-free" usually just means "BPS instead" which has similar health effects.
Has anyone found a solution to avoiding this? A truly healthily-packaged brand or a vendor for fresh fish? Obviously it's impossible to avoid plastic in the supply chain, but I would rather be eating shrink-wrapped fillets than fillets pressure-cooked and sealed in BPA-water for weeks.
Any source in eastern United States for 'fresh' sardine, mackerel, tuna fillets perhaps? I can get all the whitefish I want from the grocery store, but I'm looking for fatty fish and not catfish or tilapia.
