First Time At Flog

from a music standpoint it was great, i think all the performances i saw were fantastic and exactly what i needed from the artists. couple people im sad i missed due to overlap, but it gives me more to look forward to in the future (vince staples im lookin at you)

from a crowd standpoint? it was pretty rough outside of tyler and a couple key moments during other sets. i don’t understand how kaytranada played and there was minimal dancing! or how doechii played nissan altima and the crowd stayed still? i wish everyone would party more, i feel like that’s the whole reason to go to a fest anyways. and the lack of concert etiquette never fails to shock me, it’s not hard to be respectful. and i would’ve really loved if i wasn’t boxed in by people’s merch bags during most sets. also wtf was the deal with all the people passing out? it wasn’t that hard to get out the crowd, always prioritize your health. but of course lots of us turned up and had fun. shoutout to all the people up front for tyler, in the pit at jean dawson / wisp, the bigass group who went STUPID when roddy rich came out, and the small group of us who made a dance circle at sexyy red. yall are lit!! we need more of that!!

from a festival standpoint, it was alright. the food options were good (expensive but no surprise), the rides and games were a fun addition, but wish they had a bit more theming towards the CFG vibe. the porta potties / handwashing was about what i expected, but got kinda rough the further into the fest it got. the location of dodger stadium is kinda rough for transport and walking, but the concerts grounds itself were quite good.

from it being my first CFG, i feel as if the magic that i dreamed about has probably died out quite substantially, and it didn’t heal my 15 year old self as much as i wanted. BUT, i still had a great time. my only wish is that people would go to party, my favorite moments were when everyone dropped the anxiety and the “too cool” act and was in the moment and danced and sang relentlessly. seeing tyler was a dream come true, and being with people who were witnessing their goats for the first time will always warm my heart (the sweet guy who was crying at daniel ceaser, you have my heart.) i’m sure i’ll be back. but you’ll catch me at kilby block party! hope some of yall end up there aswell!

also can’t believe i missed blood orange bringing out brendan from turnstile. literally unreal

did yall have fun? do i got bad takes here? i’m curious!
