Interview M1: So, tell me something that is not in your CV. Me: Sir, you don’t have my CV. There was no option to upload or attach it while filling out the application. M1: Sorry, I meant your application. Me: (Told them about my graphic design work and chess as a hobby.) M1: AI is going to replace graphic designers, as you can simply give prompts and create anything that a graphic designer can, isn’t it? Me: (Explained that the final output would be different if a beginner used AI to create a design compared to a professional designer.) M1: So, you are working at Asian Paints? Me: (Mentioned my tenure and briefly described my work.) M1: What is the market share of Asian Paints? Me: (Answered.) M1: (Started asking situation-based questions—how I would capture the market if I were a competitor of Asian Paints.) Me: (Answered, but they weren’t convinced, so they started digging deeper.) M1: How would you position yourself if you were working for a competitor? Me: (Answered with examples.) M1: (Asked more questions about my work experience.)
So far, M2 was just observing and had my WAT response in his hand.
M2: What is AGI, and how is it different from AI? Me: (Answered.) M2: Can you give me some examples? Me: (Mentioned the Optimus Prime robot and its capabilities.) M2: (Asked more questions about which jobs will be replaced and how we can minimize the impact.) Me: (Talked about learning relevant skills.) M2: (Started asking chess-related questions, for which I knew all the answers—highest-rated player, chess AI, whether humans can beat Stockfish or other chess AIs, when a computer first beat a grandmaster, existing chess AIs, Stockfish’s Elo rating, etc.)
Overall Experience It was a great interview—I didn’t feel stressed at any point. The panel was very friendly.
Pro Tip: Watch 1 or 2 podcasts on AI, and you’ll be well-prepared for such discussions.
