BA Cancelled Flight and moved 9 hours earlier, what're my options?

Had an evening flight around 9pm in June 2025, one of 2 flights departing on that day. They've cancelled this one and bumped me onto the earlier 1pm flight.

They are offering this rebooking, or a refund. But for me this is a massive inconvenience as I can't get to the airport at this time, and flights with other carriers do not return to Heathrow, instead other airports.

Has anyone else had this happen and had any luck chasing BA for compensation? Despite it being in advance it's still a big inconvenience for us, as it means we basically lose a day of holiday. I'm tempted to try and get in touch with them and ask them to rebook us on another flight and pay for a cab home, or pay to put us up in a hotel overnight and take a flight the next day.

So frustrating, classic BA!
