Why are their songs so addicting?
I've been thinking about this for a while, wondering why these songs sound so good. Some days I'd listen to just their album on repeat back to back. So with the release of their newest songs, they further solidify the "kessouku band sound".
Aside from their sound being extremely balanced, in that, every instrument or vocal doesn't overpower another, or even the songs just being well written musically. I feel there's another thing about their songs that makes it so I can listen to them on repeat all day.
My main point is, somehow the way the songs are produced sounds like you get the best of both worlds of a studio recording and a live performance together. When I listen to "Flashbacker", it sounds like I'm in their practice room with them playing it. With "That Band" it sounds as it should, which is being played in a livehouse setting. They really sound like they are in front of me whenever I play their tracks, which is something I can't really say for other bands or rock songs I like. (Not that it should be like this all the time.)
I'm going to reach even further here, but I think it has to do with how the sound of the drums reverberate in a specific way at each hit. I can imagine the type of room the band is in because the drums don't sound dry and die out as soon as their hit. Or maybe I just like how that drum kit sounds.
Anyone feel this way when you listen to the songs? Or is it just the biased bocchi brain-rot talking?
