Unpopular Opinion of Uika

m VERY on the unpopular opinion that this displayed that Uika (i am still just gonna call her that) affection for Saki-chan is not the sexual romantic that the fandom seems to desperately want. I am under the opinion that Uika does love Saki but moreso in the way that relates to Ainsworth theory of attachment (the disorganized-insecure attachment) and likely developed an undiagnosed attachment disorder.

Like she confirmed that she loves, hates, idolize and fears Saki. That she honestly linked to the first person who looked 'at Hatsune's spirit ' and not the mask that she admits to have worn since her mother remarried. I understand the fandom wants Yuri Canon for this to be a ship but I just never saw it. It felt like their bond was very Bluebeard meets Stockholm vibe from the beginning to me. Like the idea of sexual lust for Saki never appeared. It was moreso a lust for the attention and to be recognized as who she is, Hatsune, and she would even cage and lock this person to allow this happiness to never end.

She always gave me tragic with layers of psychological factors character rather than the psychological layered character who turned yandere character. I still adore Uika and she is still my fave of the new gen Bandori girls. I just felt I needed to add to the pool of opinions. Just to see if anyone agree with my takeaways or gives a different perspective.

Rambles: I also enjoyed that this episode does cause me to believe that there was a reason Doloris was the mask that the opening ended on. Because her mask was the one that opens Pandora box. That if this mask was removed she has to be 'killed'.

I do think back of the predebut MV with the two girls. Like the first MV makes me think Hatsune/Rika was one in the same. Because Rika hated her life and Hatsune admitted to hating her own life. I kinda have a theory that Rika changing into Doloris was Hatsune changing into Uika for the final mv. Like the Ave Mujica 'shows' was really her exploration into getting close to Saki and her own name.

The final thing this episode gave to me was that the mystery of Uika family was explained. Like she was the only member without a voice, image or even a short appearance of any member of her family. I am happy to have it finally explained and filled in the wholes as to just how she left the island.
