Would like to recommend this book as well! Great as a FTM with complex family trauma
Deleted my last post discussing Emily Oster’s Expecting Better because the thread became incredibly toxic. I am additionally reading this incredible work by bell hooks (if you’ve never heard of her, I encourage every person I know to explore her work) it’s on rediscovering and defining an everyday love ethic after experiencing a familial trauma. It’s been incredibly helpful to me as a person with a complex trauma history trying to be the best I can be before the arrival of my first child this summer. Maybe some folks here can also benefit from this very important work. If you’ve read it please discuss!
