Lost my cat to Saddle Thrombus
On 1/24 I lost my beautiful girl Sage to saddle thrombus. All of a sudden she was yowling and couldn’t move her hind legs, and we rushed her to the vet.
We found out there that it was the clot blocking her arteries and that the only humane thing to do was euthanize. I held her head in my hands as it happened.
I just want to know if there was anything we could have done? Our vet and the emergency vet told us the same thing, that she may have lived a little longer but in horrible pain, and the clot could have moved and caused a stroke.
Why did we never know that clots were something to watch for? She recently had an echocardiogram because she had a tiny heart murmur, but we were told it was nothing to worry about.
I just feel broken and want to understand that we made the right choice for our baby.
She was 10 years old Bombay And no history of any issues other than slight heart murmur.
