Guys, What’s Your Take on This Weird Coppery Scent I Sometimes Notice Around Women?
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve noticed this strange smell that pops up every now and then when I’m around women. It’s hard to describe exactly, but it’s kind of like a mix of copper—like pennies or metal—and maybe a faint hint of freshly cut onions. It’s not constant, just something I pick up on occasionally. I know this might sound odd, and I’m not trying to say anything rude or weird here—I don’t think it’s about hygiene or anything like that. The women I’ve noticed it around aren’t ‘smelly’ in any obvious way; it’s more like this subtle, specific scent that feels consistent to me, almost like it’s coming from something deeper.
I’ve always been curious about it and wondered if I might have some kind of quirky ability—like maybe I’m picking up on illness, pheromones, or something biological that others don’t notice. I don’t know if that’s even a thing, but it’s crossed my mind. So, I figured I’d throw this out there to see if any other guys (or anyone, really) have experienced something similar. Have you ever noticed a faint, metallic, onion-like smell around certain people? Is this just me, or could there be something to it? I’m genuinely curious to hear your thoughts.
Also, when I ask the women, do you smell that? They are literally oblivious.
I think it's important to note, that I smell the same smell on different women.
Update: I appreciate the feedback — what spurred this question was my curiosity about whether the faint, metallic, onion-like smell I’ve noticed around certain women could possibly relate to my family’s cancer history on the women’s side, given studies on smelling illness. However, based on your responses, it seems I’m likely picking up on an oncoming or active menstrual cycle.... I’m a bit disappointed I don’t have a superpower. I genuintly thought I had a special ability of some sort.
