Elevated white blood cell count years after splenectomy

I had a splenectomy at age 12/13 due to Hereditary Spherocytosis. I am now 33F and generally in good health. I'm currently pregnant and a few times when I've seen consultants they have commented that my bloods are showing elevated white cell counts. One of them spoke briefly to a haematologist to ask if I needed blood thinners and was told no this was normal but the doctors keep bringing it up with me.

I have no idea if this is typical or not but surely this is something they should be investigating further if they're concerned rather than just telling me about it? Should I be asking for a proper review by a haematologist?
