Is St Andrews crap?

With all these uni rankings I’ve noticed nearly everyone ignores St Andrews completely as a uni, despite it placing top 5 UK consistently the past few years. Is this just the ignorant opinions of a bunch of 17-18 yr olds with superiority complexes or is there some truth to it? Should I take a gap year and re-apply to Oxbridge if job prospects matter a lot to me?
