Hitch Hats

Question about the Hitch hat. I just got a new one in and other than the logo being wildly off center I noticed it was also stitched through the crown protector*. All of my other hitch hats never has stitching that went through the crown protector and. I was wondering if the front logo stitching usually goes through the crown protector or if this is a defect.

*I have no idea what the black flap on the inside is actually called so I went with crown protector.
