Do trade jobs really get payed that poorly here?

I keep seeing people say that you start off making like $14 or that’s it’s very hard to make $35-40 per hour in trade jobs in Florida. Is this true? What trades get paid the best around here? I’m thinking of potentially moving down here in the future my sister already lives down here.
